Billing Clerk at Pearl Hospital

We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Clerk to support our hospital’s financial operations by accurately processing patient bills, managing insurance claims, and maintaining clear financial records. This role plays a vital part in ensuring timely reimbursement, supporting patient care through efficient billing processes, and contributing to the smooth coordination between our finance, medical, and administrative teams

Key Responsibilities

• Review and process patient bills and insurance claims
• Verify insurance coverage and pre-authorizations prior to billing
• Submit claims to insurance companies, government programs or other third-party payers
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and work with insurance companies for resolution
• Respond to billing inquiries from patients, insurance companies, and internal departments
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient billing records
• Work with collections when accounts are past due
• Assist in reconciling billing discrepancies and resolving billing errors
• Maintain confidentiality of patient financial and medical information

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma in health records or equivalent related studies
• 1-2 years of billing or accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting
