Classroom and Bus Assistant at Kitengela International School – Kitengela International School Kenya Job Details

Job Summary

  • We are looking for a dedicated and caring classroom and bus assistant to join our team. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to support students in the classroom and as well assist as bus assistant to accompany students during the pickups and drop off from school. Duties and Responsibilities

 Classroom Assistant Duties:

  • Assist the lead teacher in delivering lessons and classroom activities.
  • Set up learning materials and maintain an organized, engaging classroom environment.
  • Provide individual support to students, ensuring every child is engaged and encouraged.
  • Supervise children during activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Foster a positive atmosphere that supports children’s learning and development.

Bus Assistant Duties:

  • Ensure the safety of students during pick-up and drop-off on school buses.
  • Assist young children in safely boarding and exiting the bus.
  • Maintain discipline and a safe environment during bus rides
  • Communicate effectively with parents and drivers to facilitate smooth transportation.
  • Conduct headcounts to ensure all students are accounted for during transit.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Certificate in Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) or a similar qualification.
  • Passionate about working with young children and ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is a plus

  • High passion for teaching.
  • Good time management skills with an ability to prioritize work.
  • Must be creative and interesting to learners.
  • Excellent analytical skills and presentation.
  • Willingness to learn and ability to receive feedback.
