Job Summary:

We are in search of a meticulous and dedicated Dry Cleaner/Laundry Specialist to become a valued member of our upscale dining establishment. The successful candidate will be entrusted with upholding impeccable standards of cleanliness and appearance for all linens, uniforms, and tablecloths utilized in our restaurant.

Responsibilities:

Linen Care and Maintenance:

• Inspect linens, including tablecloths, napkins, and staff uniforms, identifying stains, damages, or special care instructions.
• Address stains and perform necessary repairs before laundering.
• Operate and maintain laundry equipment in accordance with safety and operational guidelines.

Laundry Operations:

• Categorize and segregate items based on fabric type, color, and washing guidelines.
• Utilize commercial washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment to ensure pristine and well-pressed linens and uniforms.
• Supervise laundry cycles to ensure effective cleaning without harm to delicate fabrics.

Quality Control:

• Scrutinize laundered items for cleanliness, proper folding, pressing, and presentation adherence.
• Swiftly replace damaged or worn items to ensure consistent restaurant aesthetics.

Inventory Management:

• Monitor linen inventory levels and promptly inform management of dwindling supplies.
• Assist in maintaining linen par levels and initiating supply reorders when necessary.

Team Collaboration:

• Collaborate with restaurant staff to guarantee proper collection and distribution of uniforms, linens, and table settings.
• Work alongside housekeeping and restaurant management teams to address specific requests or modifications in requirements.

Environmental Awareness:

• Adhere to eco-conscious laundry practices, including the responsible usage of detergents and energy-efficient measures.

Hygiene and Safety:

• Uphold a neat and orderly laundry space in compliance with sanitation and safety standards.
• Utilize necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as mandated.

Record Keeping:

• Accurately maintain records of laundry activities, including item counts, repairs, and inventory levels.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

• Possession of a high school diploma or its equivalent; additional certifications in laundry management would be advantageous.

Experience:

• Demonstrated experience in commercial laundry operations, preferably within a fine dining restaurant or hospitality setting.
• Proficiency in fabric care, stain removal techniques, and laundry equipment operation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Impeccable attention to detail and commitment to maintaining elevated cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Strong organizational skills and efficiency in managing laundry processes.
• Effective communication capabilities for interactions with staff, management, and suppliers.
• Ability to excel both autonomously and as part of a fast-paced team environment.
• Familiarity with eco-friendly laundry practices is beneficial.
• Physical capability to lift and move heavy laundry bags and operate laundry equipment.
• Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
