This is a mid-level, full-stack role where you will take ownership of features across multiple platforms—Laravel PHP backend, Angular/TypeScript frontend, and Flutter mobile applications—with minimal supervision. As a Software Developer at Medbook Kenya Limited, you will work on established products including AphiaOne, Mediclaim, Mediwrite, and the AphiaApp. Your work will directly impact healthcare delivery by ensuring reliable, secure software that handles sensitive patient information. Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain features across Laravel, Angular/TypeScript, and Flutter; take end-to-end ownership of assigned work from design through deployment
• Design, develop, and document REST APIs for AphiaOne, Mediclaim, Mediwrite, and the AphiaApp
• Integrate payment systems (M-Pesa/Daraja) and messaging gateways (SMS services) with third-party APIs
• Apply secure coding practices and data-protection measures aligned with Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019
• Participate in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) workflows and contribute to code review processes
• Collaborate with product, operations, and support teams to deliver stable releases and troubleshoot production issues
• Work with emerging analytics and AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality and efficiency

Requirements & Qualifications

• BSc or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent hands-on development experience
• Proven full-stack experience with Laravel and PHP on the backend; TypeScript and Angular on the frontend (React or Vue considered)
• Demonstrated experience with a mobile development framework—Flutter preferred, or React Native and native Android/iOS considered
• Solid working knowledge of SQL databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL), version control using Git, and REST API design
• Familiarity with secure coding practices and data protection principles in regulated environments
• Demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies; experience or exposure to AI/ML integration, cloud platforms, or business intelligence tools (PowerBI) is advantageous
• Prior experience in health-tech or product-driven, scaling organisations is a plus
