About the Role
Tower Sacco is recruiting a Teller to join its branch in Nairobi. This is a full-time position within accounting and finance operations. The Teller serves as the primary point of contact for members, managing all cash-based transactions and ensuring compliance with SACCO policies. Key Responsibilities
- Process deposits, withdrawals, and loan repayments accurately in accordance with established procedures and SACCO guidelines.
- Maintain strict adherence to cash handling protocols, including secure storage, locking procedures, and daily reconciliation practices.
- Identify and advise members on alternative transaction channels such as mobile banking, internet services, and ATM facilities where appropriate.
- Apply compliance, anti-money laundering, and sanctions screening procedures to all customer transactions and account openings, including enhanced due diligence assessments where required.
- Address member complaints promptly and seek practical solutions within SACCO policy; escalate complex issues to management when necessary.
- Deliver quality service to members and actively promote SACCO products and services during routine interactions.
- Identify and report suspicious transactions through proper channels to safeguard SACCO assets and comply with regulatory obligations.
- Complete additional duties as directed by the Branch Manager.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cooperatives, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; or Diploma in Management, Accounting, Finance & Banking; or Professional certification (Certified Credit Professional or Certified Public Accountant).
- Minimum of three years’ relevant experience in a reputable financial institution.
- KCSE grade C (Plain) or above, with grade C (Plain) in both English and Mathematics.
- Age 28 years or above.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Demonstrated integrity and meticulous attention to detail in financial work.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment in member interactions.
