About the Role

CJs’ Restaurants is recruiting an In House Videographer to join its marketing team in Nairobi. This is a full-time position based at one of our restaurant locations, where you will be responsible for creating, filming, and producing video content that represents our brand across multiple channels. CJs’ Restaurants operates 12 locations across East Africa—3 in Nairobi, 8 in Kampala, and 1 in Entebbe—each offering a carefully curated dining experience with over 300 menu items. The In House Videographer at CJs’ Restaurants will work closely with our marketing department to tell our brand story through compelling visual content.

In this role, you will manage all aspects of video production, from pre-production planning through final delivery. You will be expected to understand current social media trends, optimize content for different platforms, and maintain professional standards in both technical execution and creative output. This position reports to the marketing team and requires someone with hands-on experience in video editing, camera operation, and content strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Shoot and produce video content that showcases products, customer testimonials, special events, and instructional material for the restaurant brand
• Edit video footage using professional software, incorporating music, graphics, transitions, and visual effects to create polished final products
• Optimize and repurpose video content for distribution across Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube, and other social media platforms
• Work with the marketing team to develop video concepts, scripts, and shot lists that align with business objectives and brand messaging
• Manage equipment maintenance, troubleshoot technical issues during production, and ensure all shoots stay within planned timelines
• Keep current with social media video formats, emerging trends, and platform-specific best practices to ensure content remains competitive

Requirements & Qualifications

• Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or After Effects
• Demonstrated experience with professional camera equipment, lighting setups, and audio recording techniques
• Knowledge of social media video formats, platform algorithms, and content trends specific to Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube
• Strong attention to detail, creative problem-solving ability, and proven skill in visual storytelling
• Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Qualification in Film Production, Media Studies, or a related field is preferred; however, a strong portfolio demonstrating relevant video work experience may substitute for formal certification
• BA/BSc/HND qualification or equivalent professional experience in a related field
