About the Role

Amentum is recruiting for a Post Clerk OCN Mail Services position in Lamu on a full-time basis. This role sits within the administration and facilities sector, supporting critical mail operations for a global organization that specializes in defense, security, intelligence, energy, and environmental programs. The Post Clerk OCN Mail Services at Amentum will manage daily mail handling, sorting, tracking, and distribution activities while supervising support staff and maintaining operational standards.

This is a hands-on position requiring someone with postal services experience and familiarity with U.S. Postal Service procedures. You will work across multiple shifts and need to maintain physical capability for material handling. The role requires DoD postal manual certification and the ability to obtain facility security credentials prior to starting work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage receipt, processing, sorting, tracking, and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail, parcels, and packages in line with established operating procedures, safety guidelines, and security protocols.
  • Supervise mail services staff assigned to collection, sorting, metering, scanning, and delivery functions, ensuring accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Provide day-to-day operational support for mail services, overseeing timely handling and delivery of mail supplies, materials, and related items across the organization.
  • Train, mentor, and guide staff on the proper use of mail equipment including postage meters, barcode scanners, scales, and related systems.
  • Identify and resolve operational challenges, employee concerns, and work-related issues to maintain a productive environment.
  • Build and promote teamwork across mail services functions to ensure consistent, coordinated delivery of support services throughout the organization.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all mail services functions and procedures to support staff development and operational continuity.
  • Carry out additional duties consistent with the nature and level of the Post Clerk OCN Mail Services position as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
  • Minimum three years of experience in mail services, postal operations, or a related field.
  • Must complete and obtain required certification per Department of Defense Postal Manual 4525.6-M (dated August 15, 2002) and USPS Domestic Mail Manual requirements before performing postal duties.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. Postal Service operations, postage metering equipment, mail processing procedures, and domestic and international mailing requirements.
  • Valid passport with a minimum of one year validity at the time of hiring; must be able to travel internationally as required.
  • Previous experience handling cash transactions and maintaining financial accountability.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials and security authorization.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage routine operational issues effectively.
  • Capability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials weighing up to 70 pounds for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and comprehending English.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules including early mornings, daytime, and evening hours based on operational and flight schedules.
  • Must successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout deployment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect customer privacy and sensitive information.
