As a Procurement Officer at Oasis Healthcare, you will manage vendor relationships, oversee inventory levels, and coordinate with internal departments to forecast procurement needs. Key Responsibilities

  • Create and roll out procurement plans working alongside departmental heads to align purchasing with operational needs.
  • Identify, assess, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing without compromising on product quality.
  • Prepare purchase orders in line with approved budgets and internal procurement policies.
  • Build and maintain a current database of pre-qualified suppliers across medical and general procurement categories.
  • Organize and file all procurement documentation to meet audit and compliance standards.
  • Track supplier performance and confirm timely delivery of ordered goods and services.
  • Liaise with the finance team to verify invoices and process supplier payments correctly.
  • Conduct periodic market analysis and price benchmarking to secure value for money in all purchases.
  • Work with the stores team to manage stock levels and prevent both shortages and excess inventory.
  • Join tendering committees and evaluation panels when required by the procurement process.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Current membership with the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management.
  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a procurement or supply chain role, with healthcare sector experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and manage supplier relationships over time.
  • Demonstrated integrity and a solid understanding of procurement ethics and best practice.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with procurement management software systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple purchase cycles simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of Kenyan procurement regulations and hospital supply chain requirements.
