About the Role
Pearl Hospital is seeking a Business Development Lead to drive hospital client acquisition and revenue expansion across our teleradiology platform. You will own the entire sales cycle—from identifying target facilities through contract closure—with a focus on converting hospitals into paying customers and building a repeatable, structured pipeline.
Pearl Hospital operates cloud-based radiology reporting services across Kenya’s healthcare sector, partnering with both urban referral hospitals and rural clinics to improve diagnostic access. The Business Development Lead role is not a marketing or support position; it is a direct sales role accountable for closing deals and expanding account relationships with healthcare institutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and prioritize target hospitals and health systems based on market potential and fit with Pearl Hospital’s services.
- Execute direct outreach to hospital leadership and clinical decision makers to initiate sales conversations.
- Manage the complete sales process from initial contact through contract signature, handling all phases of the sales cycle.
- Present Pearl Hospital’s platform and solutions to both clinical and administrative stakeholders, addressing their specific needs.
- Negotiate commercial terms and finalize agreements that reflect both party interests and company revenue targets.
- Build and maintain a structured, organized sales pipeline with qualified opportunities at each stage.
- Identify and pursue account expansion opportunities within existing client hospitals.
- Track and report on pipeline metrics, conversion rates, and revenue performance on a regular basis.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in healthcare business development or direct medical sales.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully closing B2B commercial deals with measurable revenue impact.
- Prior experience selling solutions directly into hospitals or multi-facility health systems.
- Strong negotiation and communication abilities, with capacity to engage senior executives and procurement teams.
- Ability to build rapport with hospital decision makers across clinical and administrative functions.
- Experience in diagnostics, medical devices, or digital health platforms is preferred.
- Existing professional network within Kenya’s healthcare sector is a significant advantage.
- Working knowledge of hospital procurement processes and decision-making structures.
What to Expect
- A commercial environment where your focus is on closing deals and building measurable revenue pipelines—metrics-driven and outcome-focused.
- Direct engagement with hospital administrators, radiologists, and procurement teams across Nairobi and beyond, requiring regular field visits and client meetings.
- Ownership of your sales territory and client relationships, with clear accountability for pipeline development and revenue generation.
