About the Role
Java House is recruiting a Finance Intern to join its accounting team in Kenya. This is an internship position that offers hands-on experience in accounts payable and financial record management. You will work under the supervision of the payables accountant, handling supplier invoicing, reconciliations, and payment processing tasks that are core to accounting jobs in Kenya.

Key Responsibilities
- Process incoming invoices from suppliers and maintain accurate records within the accounting system.
- Compare supplier account statements against the supplier ledger to verify balances and prepare accounts for payment.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified during reconciliation work.
- Monitor supplier payment schedules to ensure amounts are disbursed according to the cash flow forecast.
- Participate in periodic physical stock counts and support the inventory reconciliation process.
- Perform additional finance and accounting duties as assigned by the payables accountant.
Requirements & Qualifications
- CPA Part 2 qualification or higher (CPA Part 3 or full CPA certification preferred).
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.
- Ability to manage financial records accurately and maintain organized documentation.
- Strong attention to detail when reconciling accounts and processing payments.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and respond to external supplier queries.
