Key Responsibilities

• Receive, process, and issue equipment and materials designated for backloading operations, maintaining complete and accurate records at every stage.
• Conduct regular inventory audits and stock reconciliation checks, generating documentation that demonstrates compliance with organizational storage standards.
• Prepare and verify backloading paperwork, ensuring all Certified True Copy certifications are executed correctly and without delay.
• Oversee container booking, loading, and logistics coordination during the absence of the Senior Technical Stores Person, managing the entire operation independently.
• Maintain the backloading bay in full operational readiness by performing daily cleaning, organizing work areas, and addressing any equipment maintenance issues.
• Manage hazardous materials storage and labeling protocols, verifying that dangerous goods documentation is complete and compliant before shipment.
• Monitor all material handling equipment for mechanical soundness, documenting faults and liaising with maintenance providers to ensure roadworthiness.
• File, collate, and process all accountable documentation in a timely manner, flagging discrepancies for the Supply and Recovery cell.
• Verify that ISO containers are correctly marked, items are packed securely with proper dunnage, and all packing materials are recovered and re-demanded.
• Support the Senior Technical Stores Person as required and execute any additional tasks assigned by the Storehouse Supervisor or Military Logistics Manager.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Hold a Certificate or Diploma in Stores Management, Procurement and Suppliers Management, or a related Business qualification from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrate excellent proficiency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili at a minimum of O Level standard or equivalent.
• Possess at least one year of verifiable experience working in a storage, logistics, or supply chain role within an organization of similar size and complexity.
• Exhibit strong competencies in teamwork, resource planning, supplier and customer relationship management, and delivering measurable results under pressure.
• Hold a valid Category C Kenyan Driving Licence (desirable but advantageous for operational mobility).
• Possess Manual Handling Equipment Operator certification or willingness to obtain it (desirable qualification).
• Show commitment to health and safety compliance, equipment care standards, and familiarity with logistics information systems and applications.
• Display reliability, accuracy in administrative tasks, and the capability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining military standards.
