Training & Compliance Lead-Wasoko – Wasoko Kenya Job Details
Job Description:
Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive Training and Compliance Lead to take charge of coordinating training and compliance activities within our organization. The chosen candidate will collaborate closely with various teams to ensure the timely resolution of training and compliance requirements. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and sustaining process changes necessary to achieve effective workplace training and alignment with health, safety, and environmental regulatory standards.
Reporting To:
Associate – Logistics Process & Compliance
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate existing and new compliance regulations, review company processes, and conduct training sessions.
- Identify training and development needs by analyzing job roles, using appraisal schemes, and engaging regularly with business managers and the People and Culture departments.
- Train staff to ensure adherence to company processes, policies, and regulations.
- Enforce safety, security, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Continuously assess the effectiveness of control systems and provide recommendations for enhancements.
- Review company procedures and reports to identify potential risks and common challenges.
- Conduct regular audits of company procedures and processes.
- Lead training sessions for employees on legal and compliance matters.
- Contribute to the creation of training materials.
- Act as a member of the Wasoko safety committee and serve as a safety ambassador in the warehouse.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in business administration, human resources, logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a compliance officer, training officer, or in a similar role.
- Previous expertise in Logistics processes.
- Strong understanding of transport and warehousing operations.
- Proficient in MS Office, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Excellent presentation skills with a natural ability to engage with people.
- Analytical thinker with effective problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Upholds legal and ethical integrity.
- Proficient in English.
- Expert knowledge of the company and the relevant market.
