Job Description

Job Purpose:

The role involves managing construction projects through meticulous planning, scheduling, detailed oversight, and rigorous quality control. The primary responsibility is to ensure that all aspects of the project adhere to specifications and industry standards while upholding project integrity and quality.

Quality Control:

  • Enforce rigorous quality control standards, ensuring that all work complies with project specifications and industry norms.
  • Conduct regular, comprehensive inspections of materials to be used in the construction process, promptly addressing any deviations from project requirements.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all inspections and observations.
  • Thoroughly review project drawings and specifications, identifying and highlighting errors and discrepancies to the Project Manager.

Project Planning, Scheduling & Monitoring:

  • Develop Gantt charts for projects and ensure strict adherence to project plans.
  • Identify critical paths within the project schedule and collaborate with project teams to prioritize tasks and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Proactively assess and mitigate risks that may affect project timelines.

Documentation and Reporting & ERP:

  • Prepare comprehensive reports on construction progress, quality-related issues, and compliance findings.
  • Ensure that Daily Progress Reports, Weekly Site Progress Reports, and Monthly Site Progress Reports are consistently updated in the ERP system.
  • Document all changes, variations, and deviations in project specifications.
  • Review project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and contracts, to ensure accuracy and alignment with project objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a role similar to Clerk of Works or a quality control position in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, software, and ERP modules.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and robust analytical capabilities.
  • Proficiency in project management and documentation software/tools.
