About the role

What you need to know:

Reporting to the Claims Manager – Personal Insurance (Auto), this role provides professional and efficient Claims adjudication including receipt, review and processing of Personal Lines claims. Responsible for investigation and evaluation of each claim assigned and for recommending the resolution strategy and implementation of such.

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelors’ Degree Holder
  • Diploma in Insurance is a MUST (AIIK /CII)
  • Excellent technical knowledge of General Insurance Products.
  • Detailed working knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment within which Auto claims are handled.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse intimated claims and calling for claims supporting documents.
  • Appoint assessors t determine the extent of losses and investigators where key fraud indicators re noted.
  • Analyse reports from the assessors and investigators and recommending settlement of repudiation.
  • Liaise with underwriters to verify policy details and areas /actions that minimize losses.
  • Issue discharge vouchers for claims that are fully documented and verified.
  • Review reserves in open outstanding claims.
  • Issuing release letters after completion of repair of vehicles.
  • Attend to customers/brokers/staff queries and complaints in a professional manner.
  • Initiating recovery by preparing demand letters to negligent third parties and assigning the claims to the subrogation officer for recovery follow up.
  • Processing service providers’ invoices received for payment and ensuring that the invoices are settled within set TATs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree of Commerce
  • Diploma in Insurance – CII or ACII
  • Excellent technical knowledge of General Insurance products

Experience

  • Experience in handling Personal Lines Claims.
  • Multinational working experience
  • Detailed working knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment within which such claims are handled.
