Job Purpose:
The primary goal of this role is to ensure the timely collection of outstanding debts in accordance with agreed-upon terms and limits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform various tasks related to assigned accounts, including recording, verifying, and validating customer details received from clients.
- Advise customers on strategies to settle their debts while emphasizing the importance of debt payment and the consequences of non-payment.
- Serve as a mediator in resolving disputes between customers and principals/clients.
- Locate and inform customers with defaulted accounts through methods such as mail, telephone, or scheduled visits, requesting payment.
- Engage in discussions with customers, either by phone or in person, to identify reasons for overdue payments and to review credit terms to facilitate debt settlement.
- Initiate the clearance process for resolved debts upon receiving payment proof and ensure the relevant department updates the records accordingly.
- Provide customers with accurate account details, including balances and account numbers.
- Maintain data integrity and safeguard customer information confidentiality.
- Attend to customer inquiries and meetings, whether scheduled or unscheduled.
- Record financial status information of customers and the progress of collection efforts in the company’s system.
- Respond to all forms of correspondence, including email, telephone calls, and postal mail.
- Organize, manage, and implement appropriate debt recovery methods and techniques.
- Negotiate credit extensions when necessary.
- Prepare required reports.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a diploma in any field from a recognized institution, with at least 1-2 years of experience in a Collection/Credit or Sales and Marketing environment. (A diploma in Banking/Credit management will be advantageous).
- Strong analytical abilities, effective problem-solving skills, and the capability to work well under high-pressure situations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for managing relationships with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English is essential.
- Computer literacy is required.
