Job Requirement

Served in the grade of Principal accountant or its equivalent in a comparable position in the Public Service for a minimum period of three (3) years;
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Business/Commerce/Accounting/Finance or equivalent from a recognized University
Certified Public Accountant
Registered Member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya
Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Job Description

Preparation of financial statements.
Controlling and supervising processing of payments.
Preparation of cash flow plans.
Accounting and recording of all accounting transactions.
Coordinating preparation of management accounts
Manage/supervise Principal/ Senior Accountants to handle a cluster of sub sectors and maintain the schedules and ledger of pending suppliers of goods and merchants at sector level.
Manage the pending bills vote books and Manage preparation of vouchers for debt settlement
Facilitating preparation of month, quarterly and annual financial statements
Coordinate accounting services and staff to ensure compliance with financial and accounting standard.
Ensure expenditure is fully authorized in accordance to policy and regulation and process payments
Prepare accounting sector budget estimates and liaise with sector working group
Liaise with Internal and external auditors on financial reports and audit queries
Ensure compliance with budget estimates
Liaise with Assistant (Principal/senior) accountants to ensure accounting services in the sectors are in line with policy
Approve payment vouchers,
Requisitions for LSO’s and LPO’s for the Sector.
