ICT Officer – University of Nairobi (Green STEM Project)
The University of Nairobi is seeking a qualified ICT Officer to support the implementation of the Green STEM Project. The role focuses on providing technical leadership, managing digital systems, and supporting effective communication, data management, and information flow across the project consortium.
Job Purpose
The ICT Officer will provide end-to-end ICT and digital systems support for the Green STEM Project, ensuring reliable digital communication, secure data management, and efficient use of ICT platforms across both central and local coordination offices.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The role involves developing, maintaining, and managing the Green STEM Project’s digital platforms, including the project website, online tools, and databases, while providing ICT support to project staff and partners. The officer will ensure reliable network connectivity, data storage, and information security for all project data, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide ICT support during project events, workshops, and virtual meetings.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining the project website and online communication tools to enhance visibility and knowledge sharing, supporting the development and dissemination of digital content such as newsletters, reports, graphics, and multimedia materials, managing social media platforms and digital campaigns aligned with project communication strategies, and coordinating digital data collection and storage systems to support monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. The officer will also carry out any other ICT-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Job Specification
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, ICT Management, or a related field. A minimum of three (3) years’ professional experience in ICT administration, digital systems management, or project ICT support is required. Candidates should demonstrate proven experience in website development, database management, and digital communication tools, alongside a strong understanding of network systems, cybersecurity, and cloud-based collaboration platforms.
