Truck Driver at Emerge Egress Consulting

Role Objective.

• Our client is a logistics company in Kenya is seeking to hire a dependable and safety conscious Truck Driver who will be responsible for of goods to and from one point to another in good state and timely. The ideal candidate should have a clean driving record.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensuring timely, accurate and safe delivery of goods.
• Verify the accuracy of orders before departure and upon delivery.
• Ability to handle unexpected situations such as roadblocks and vehicle breakdowns
• Follow road safety guidelines.
• Performing basic vehicle maintenance, including regular inspections, oil changes and maintaining accurate records of deliveries.
• Plan delivery routes and schedules in coordination with the logistics team to ensure efficient use of time and resources.
• Inspecting and maintaining the vehicle to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of goods during transport/transit to prevent damage or contamination.
• Establish and maintain excellent customer relationships by providing an efficient, reliable, friendly and courteous service to all customers
• Efficient route planning to minimize travel time and fuel consumption
• Operate vehicle in an efficient and effective manner while reporting any technical issues as soon as possible.
• Keep accurate records of all deliveries, including delivery times, locations, and goods delivered.
• Load and unload goods at the various pick up, destination points and client locations using various equipment as required.
• Collaborate with various teams to ensure proper inventory management and reporting.

Job Specifications and Qualifications

• KCSE Certificate, additional education or certification in logistics or a related field preferred.
• Valid commercial driver\\\’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• At least 5 years of experience driving commercial vehicles, preferably in the logistics sector.
• In depth knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices.
