Procurement Intern
Purpose of the Internship
- The internship position supports the Procurement function by working closely with the Procurement Officer by assisting in procurement processes while ensuring compliance with relevant institutional policies, procedures and applicable regulatory frameworks.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gain exposure in procurement processes, preparation of tender documents
- Support in processing users’ requests.
- Gain exposure by participating in tender opening, evaluation, disposal and inspection and acceptance committees.
- Support in the registration and pre-qualification of suppliers.
- Learn and assist in preparation and implementation of contracts.
- Support in conducting inventory and stock take.
- Assist in the disposal of obsolete items.
- Gain experience in preparing of statutory reports.
- Assist in supplier appraisal.
- Gain experience in filing and keeping procurement records.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of procurement and supply chain function.
- Ability to assist with procurement-related administrative tasks.
- Good numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Open to learning, adaptability and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Procurement and
- Contract Management, or any other procurement related course from a recognized university.
- Currently pursuing a professional qualification in Procurement (e.g., CPSP or CIPS) will be an added advantage.
- Relevant practical exposure to the procurement department through an industrial attachment or internship.
- Keen interest in developing skills in procurement and supply chain management.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Ability to learn quickly, work under guidance and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Intern – Investment
Purpose of the Internship
- The internship position supports the Procurement function by assisting the Procurement Officer with procurement processes, maintaining accurate procurement records, following up on supplier deliveries and ensuring compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Keeping up to date with macro-economic trends, market developments as well as monitoring corporate actions of listed companies.
- Forecasts near term and long-term macroeconomic indicators such as GDP, inflation and interest rates.
- Researches, analyses and provides relevant information through written reports for decision making.
- Analyze investment attractiveness of the Scheme’s existing and new listed equities, unlisted equities, offshore, private equity, alternative assets and fixed income instruments to the departmental head.
- Maintain accurate investment records, databases and files.
- Assist in monitoring investment performance and preparing periodic reports
- Support compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Update the research database on a regular basis.
- Any other duties assigned.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Basic understanding of investment concepts, financial markets and asset classes.
- Ability to analyze financial data and conduct simple financial and market research.
- Good numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn, adaptability, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial science, Economics, Statistics or a related field.
- Currently pursuing an investments professional course such as CIFA or CFA will be an added advantage.
- Relevant practical exposure to the investment or pension industry through an industrial attachment or internship.
- Knowledge and willingness to broaden skills in financial modeling and investment analysis.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Good communication, interpersonal and team building skills.
- Ability to learn quickly, work under guidance and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
ICT & Database Intern
Purpose of the Job
- The internship position supports the ICT function by assisting in system administration, database management, information security, and maintenance of ICT infrastructure to ensure efficient and secure operations of the Scheme’s systems.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities are:
Operational Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining ICT systems, servers and network infrastructure.
- Support implementation of information security controls and participate in basic risk assessments.
- Assist in maintaining and updating databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability.
- Provide support in system backups, recovery processes, and routine maintenance tasks.
- Assist in troubleshooting ICT issues and providing user support under supervision.
- Support updating and maintenance of the Scheme’s website and digital platforms.
- Participate in ICT audits, vulnerability assessments and documentation of findings.
- Assist in maintaining ICT documentation, policies and procedures.
- Support liaison with ICT service providers to ensure service delivery.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with ICT policies, standards and regulatory requirements.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.

The job holder must possess;
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field from a recognized university.
- Basic knowledge of databases, networking and system administration.
- Exposure to cybersecurity concepts and ICT risk management is an added advantage.
- Professional certifications, or currently pursuing certifications, such as CCNA, Security+, or
- Microsoft certifications, are considered an added advantage.
- Relevant practical exposure to the ICT department through internship or industrial attachment.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic understanding of web technologies and systems support is an added advantage.
- Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Ability to learn quickly, work under guidance and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
