About the Role
Binance is recruiting a Community Manager, West Africa to lead regional community engagement and user acquisition across West Africa, based in Nairobi. Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers within the Binance Angels program, overseeing their activities and performance across the West Africa region.
- Plan and execute both online and offline community events, meetups, webinars, and educational workshops designed to increase user engagement and strengthen brand visibility.
- Manage and moderate regional Telegram and Discord communities, implementing moderation bots, running mini-games, and launching engagement campaigns to maintain a healthy community environment.
- Identify and establish partnerships with local cryptocurrency communities, student organizations, and universities to extend Binance Academy’s reach and attract new users.
- Develop, translate, and edit community-focused content in English and local languages to ensure regional relevance and cultural appropriateness.
- Research and pilot new community platforms that align with local user behavior and can help expand the customer base in West Africa.
- Drive promotion of Binance products and campaigns while delivering responsive support to community members with inquiries and concerns.
- Gather user feedback, market observations, and community insights, then relay findings to internal Product, Growth, and Marketing teams to inform decision-making.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in community management, event organization, or closely related roles within online or offline communities.
- Active user of Binance products (Spot trading, Margin, Futures, P2P, Earn) with solid understanding of cryptocurrency, blockchain terminology, DeFi, Web3, and NFT concepts.
- Proven ability to create and curate content for social and messaging platforms including Twitter, Telegram, Discord, Facebook, and WhatsApp.
- Demonstrated success managing communities or organizing events, with strong sense of ownership and emotional intelligence when dealing with diverse personalities.
- Technical familiarity with Telegram moderation tools, bots, and community-building campaigns.
- Comfort with data, analytics dashboards, and tracking return on investment (ROI) for community initiatives.
- Excellent conflict resolution and communication abilities; capable of handling sensitive conversations and disagreements professionally.
- Fluency in English and deep familiarity with West African social media behavior and community dynamics; willingness to work flexible hours to support round-the-clock crypto communities.
