About the Role
The World Food Programme (WFP) is recruiting a Programme Assistant (Partnerships and Reporting), SSA-5 Nairobi to join its Sudan Country Office. This is a full-time position based in Nairobi that sits within the Partnerships and Reporting Unit. The role supports critical functions across data management, donor reporting, and analytical work that directly enables WFP’s humanitarian operations. As the food assistance arm of the United Nations and the world’s largest organization addressing hunger, WFP relies on skilled support staff to maintain the accuracy and timeliness of information shared with donors, governments, and internal stakeholders.
You will work across multiple functions including data consolidation, report preparation, research support, and incident-related communications. The Programme Assistant (Partnerships and Reporting), SSA-5 Nairobi at World Food Programme (WFP) contributes to a range of outputs that inform strategic decision-making and maintain transparency with funding partners. This is a Project Management role suitable for candidates with 5 years of relevant experience in partnership coordination, donor engagement, or operational reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile and consolidate data from multiple sources to support reporting, research, and analysis across Country Office activities.
- Prepare reports and information products including donor reports, operational updates, situation briefs, and analytical documents for internal and external use.
- Support research and data gathering efforts that inform strategic planning, donor engagement, and compliance with reporting requirements.
- Draft, review, and refine written materials including donor reports, presentations, briefing notes, and internal documentation to ensure clarity and consistency.
- Collect, track, and compile data related to incidents impacting donor funds, and prepare associated communication materials.
- Maintain databases, tracking systems, and information repositories, ensuring data quality and that key information remains accessible across the office.
- Coordinate with teams across Programme, Risk, Supply Chain, and other units to gather inputs, verify information, and strengthen reporting workflows.
- Respond to information requests and operational queries from internal and external stakeholders, providing timely and accurate responses.
- Contribute ideas for improving reporting processes, tools, and systems to increase efficiency and output quality.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Development, Financial Management, or a related field in international development. A diploma in these fields coupled with additional years of hands-on experience in the same functional area is also acceptable.
- Five years of relevant experience in partnership work, donor relations, or operational reporting, including drafting donor reports and conducting basic data analysis.
- Previous experience working in the UN system, international NGOs, or similar humanitarian organizations is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with a range of stakeholders and provide high-quality support services.
- Competence in basic data analysis and the ability to identify and resolve data-related issues independently.
- Strong monitoring and data recording skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and spoken English language proficiency.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
