Vestas is recruiting a Customer Management Professional for its Service Business Unit in Nairobi. The role sits within the Contract Management Department, which oversees all service agreements, spare parts distribution, and post-sale turbine support across Vestas’s operational portfolio.
As a Customer Management Professional at Vestas, you will be the primary point of contact for relationship maintenance and commercial growth with existing service clients. You will work across multiple departments—operations, technical support, and sales—to ensure contracts remain active, invoicing runs smoothly, and new revenue opportunities are identified and captured.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and sustain working relationships with existing customers; identify renewal opportunities and work to secure contract extensions and upsells.
- Work with the service operations team to establish a unified approach to customer relationship management and account strategy.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including value-added services and recovery of previously lost accounts.
- Prepare time and material quotations and monitor the sales pipeline to increase orders of this type.
- Partner with the commercial department during the full lifecycle of service contract negotiations, amendments, and quotation development.
- Respond to contractual inquiries from customers, the sales team, and operations staff, providing clear and timely clarification.
- Coordinate with the Technical Support Department on open case resolution, maintain regular communication with customers, and ensure issues are tracked and closed on schedule.
- Monitor and manage contract performance metrics including bonuses, penalties, liquidated damages, and variable compensation terms.
- Compile and distribute monthly customer reports for each wind farm site and upload documents to the customer portal on time.
- Process invoices for all accounts in a timely manner and confirm that billing schedules are current in the ERP system.
- Follow up with customers on outstanding invoices and coordinate payment collection activities.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in contract management or a similar role involving client-facing contract administration.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities and deadlines.
- Sales and negotiation experience; comfort discussing commercial terms with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to contract compliance and documentation.
- Willingness to develop expertise in wind energy service delivery and continuous improvement of processes.
