Vumi Foundation

  • Support the Executive Director by managing end-to-end operational and administrative duties of the organization on a day-to-day basis, including facilities management, calendar management, record keeping and project management.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute strategic plans that align with the organization’s mission and goals
  • Monitor progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure the organization meets its objectives.
  • Strategic Planning & Implementation
  • Oversee the allocation and utilization of resources, including finances, personnel, and materials
  • Ensure that all resources are used effectively and in accordance with the organization’s values and policies.
  • Resource Management
  • Manage administrative functions, including office management, record-keeping, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
  • Administrative Oversight
  • Assist in budget preparation and financial planning.
  • Monitor expenses and revenues, ensuring financial sustainability and accountability.
  • Oversee fundraising initiatives and donor relations.
  • Financial Management
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and development of staff and volunteers.
  • Ensure a positive and productive work environment, fostering a culture of collaboration and respect.
  • Human Resources Management
  • Coordinate and manage various programs and projects, ensuring they align with the organization’s mission.
  • Monitor program effectiveness and make improvements as needed

Requirements:

Experience and Competencies

  • Minimum two years’ working experience in the Non-Profit sector.
  • Experience with donors, regulators, banks and NGO’s is key.
  • Academic background in international relations, business management or equivalent is preferable.
  • Experience with fund raising for foundations is an added advantage.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Literacy in bookkeeping is required.
  • Fluent English and Swahili with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Acceptable knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications;
  • Presentation tools and programs
  • Good organizer and planner with time management skills
  • Experience in social media management is an added advantage.
