Job Purpose
This position is responsible for receiving, recording, and issuing plant equipment spare parts, tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to Plant operations staff and managing non-bin items, while ensuring the proper and safe custody of stock materials according to established procedures
Main Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate records of all received, issued, and stored items, including plant equipment, spare parts, tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), and non-bin items.
- Implement systematic inventory practices to ensure efficient tracking, labeling, and organization of stock materials.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure timely reorder and restocking of essential items, minimizing stockouts and overstock situations.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to verify stock accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure the proper and safe custody of all stock materials, adhering to established procedures and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with the Plant operations staff to provide necessary PPE and tools, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Keep updated on industry standards and regulations related to inventory management and workplace safety.
- Implement best practices to maintain a safe, organized, and compliant storage environment.
Resource Allocation
- Assist in the allocation of resources required for maintenance tasks, including the timely distribution of spare parts and tools.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel to support planned maintenance activities and ensure resources are efficiently utilized.
- Manage the lifecycle of inventory items to optimize their usage and minimize waste.
Minimum Required Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Academic Qualifications
- A certificate in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Professional Qualifications
- A qualification in store management will be an added advantage.
ExperienceÂ
- At least one (1) year experience as a store clerk in a similar organisation.
- Practical experience in use of MS packages and ERP systems.

- Proficiency in managing and tracking inventory, including spare parts, tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records of all received, issued, and stored items, as well as maintenance logs and inventory documentation.
- Skills in monitoring inventory levels, conducting regular audits, and ensuring timely reorder and restocking of essential items.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to the storage and handling of maintenance materials, ensuring compliance in all activities.
- Capability to assist in the allocation and distribution of resources required for maintenance tasks, coordinating with supply chain and procurement teams.
