Job Purpose

Kirawa Road School – Kitisuru is seeking qualified and committed Lower School Teachers to join its academic team. The role focuses on delivering high-quality instruction in early primary classes while supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of learners. The successful candidates will foster a structured and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, creativity, and foundational skill development.

The Lower School Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate lessons aligned with the curriculum, assessing learner progress, and working collaboratively with colleagues and parents to ensure positive learning outcomes. This role requires strong classroom management skills, professionalism, and dedication to nurturing young learners during their formative educational years.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver structured lesson plans aligned with the approved curriculum.

  • Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that supports effective learning.

  • Assess, record, and report on students’ academic progress and overall development.

  • Use diverse teaching strategies to address different learning abilities and styles.

  • Manage classroom behavior in line with school policies and best teaching practices.

  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding learner progress and concerns.

  • Participate in staff meetings, school events, and professional development activities.

  • Support co-curricular activities and contribute to the broader school community.

Job Requirements

  • Must be a registered member of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant academic qualification.

  • Demonstrated experience teaching in early primary or lower school levels.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to engage and motivate young learners effectively.

  • Good classroom management and organizational skills.

  • Professional integrity and commitment to child safeguarding standards.
