Group and Events Sales Executive
Job Purpose
Kempinski Hotels is seeking a qualified and experienced Group and Events Sales Executive to support the planning, coordination, and execution of group bookings and events within a five-star hotel environment. This full-time job in Kenya is suited for a results-oriented sales professional with proven experience in hospitality sales, particularly in groups and events management.
The role focuses on converting enquiries into confirmed business, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring that every event is delivered according to agreed specifications. The successful candidate will work closely with the Groups and Events Sales Manager and other hotel departments to ensure seamless communication, accurate documentation, and high levels of client satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities

Participate fully in orientation and training programs provided by the Groups and Events Sales Manager and senior sales associates

Gather and apply detailed knowledge of food and beverage offerings, technical equipment, and inter-departmental procedures during the sales and planning process

Maintain an updated planning information portfolio for effective reference in client engagements

Represent the hotel professionally in all telephone, written, and in-person communications with potential, past, and current clients

Prepare and share accurate event-related information with clients and relevant hotel departments in a timely manner
-
Take responsibility for final event preparations and oversee execution on the day of the event to ensure client satisfaction

Complete assigned sales and event reports within stipulated timelines

Maintain organized event files with all relevant documentation recorded on departmental forms

Follow up on all enquiries within 24 hours and regularly track potential and existing client files

Ensure proper outlining and collection of advance deposits and final payments or coordinate credit arrangements with the Credit Manager

Support other sales team members in securing business and delivering events that meet client expectations

Meet or exceed personal monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets

Focus primary sales efforts on an agreed market segment while supporting broader team initiatives
Job Requirements

Degree or Diploma in Business Management or a related field

Minimum of four years’ experience as a Group and Events Sales Executive in a five-star hotel

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant office management software

Excellent communication, customer service, and negotiation skills

Strong writing, speaking, and reading skills in English

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with multiple stakeholders

Proactive approach with the ability to take initiative in managing the sales and planning process
