Summary 

Laterite is looking for brilliant and highly motivated individuals to assist with our fieldwork activities in Kenya. These positions are offered on a project-basis. Successful candidates will be added to our database and contacted based on availability of positions.

OPEN POSITIONS

1. Enumerator
The Enumerator / Data Collector will be responsible for conducting field data collection for all
research activities. The role involves interacting with respondents, recording accurate responses,
and ensuring high-quality data in line with study protocols.
Key Responsibilities
• Actively participate and complete training;
• Assist in pretesting or piloting questionnaires
• Follow sampling protocols and project instructions to reach targeted respondents.
• Conduct interviews (face-to-face and or phone) with respondents using electronic
devices (tablets).
• Ensure accurate, complete, and timely data collection according to survey guidelines.
• Verify responses for consistency and clarity before submission.
• Report any issues or challenges in the field to supervisors promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards when handling respondent information.
• Ensure proper care and use of project equipment (e.g., tablets)
• Perform duties as allocated by your supervisor;
• Take responsibility for tracking expenses and reporting them to your supervisor;
• Assist in any other tasks related to the delivery of the project at hand as assigned by
• your supervisor
Required Qualifications
Education
• Bachelors degree in any field
Experience
• Experience conducting research in one of the Laterite’s core sectors
• Minimum of 1-year experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection
• Familiarity with using mobile data collection tools (e.g. SurveyCTO, Kobo Toolbox, ODK,)
is an advantage.
• Fluency in speaking local languages (e.g., Luo, Kalenjin, Kikuyu, Kiswahili, Somali) is an
added advantage.
