Position Announcement: Driver – Turkana (Full-Time)

About DCA: DCA is seeking an experienced and dynamic Kenyan National to join our team as a Driver, based at our Kakuma Office in Turkana. This role is a full-time position.

Reporting Structure: The Driver will report to the Procurement and Logistics (ProLog) Assistant in Kakuma and will receive technical guidance from the Area Programme Manager in Turkana and the Procurement and Logistics Officer based in Nairobi.

Job Objective:

The primary purpose of this role is to provide safe and dependable transportation services to the designated Programme/Project/Unit as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely transport staff and other authorized partners as assigned.
• Ensure the assigned vehicle is regularly cleaned, serviced, and properly maintained.
• Collaborate with the line manager to coordinate vehicle repairs and servicing.
• Maintain compliance with government traffic regulations.
• Safeguard all items within the assigned vehicle.
• Report incidents and follow the organization’s rules and regulations.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date records of vehicle work tickets and monthly fuel voucher booklets.
• Assist with loading and unloading lightweight project materials/goods.
• Provide logistical support during training sessions and workshops.

Required Qualifications:

Education and Professional Qualifications:

• Minimum secondary education – KCSE.
• Valid clean driving license – Category B (Light vehicles/small cars/mini-bus), Category C (Light Truck), or Category D (PSV). Candidates with licensed tricycle driving experience will have an advantage.
• Basic computer skills are a plus.

Qualifications and Experience:

• More than three (3) years of driving experience, preferably with a Non-Governmental Organization.
• Experience in driving in challenging terrain.
• Basic vehicle maintenance and repair skills.
• Basic knowledge of First Aid and familiarity with safety and security measures are advantageous.
