Director, KSTVET Moiben Regional Campus at Kenya School of TVET

Job Purpose

• The director, KSTVET Moiben Campus is responsible to the Principal/Chief Executive Officer for the direction, organization, administration and programmes of the campus. In addition, the director is responsible for the dayto-day operations and administration of the campus.

Job Description

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: –

• (i) Having responsibility of the direction, organization, administration and
• programmes of the campus;
• Providing leadership in the execution of the school’s mandate in the campus;
• Leading the execution of the Council’s strategy in the campus to ensure achievement of the Council’s objectives:
• implementing operational plans for achieving the objectives of the School in the campus;
• Implementing relevant policies and procedures in the campus that give the School positive perception and competitive advantage:
• Implementing administrative structures, processes and systems put in place by the Principal/CEO.
• Participating in preparation of annual budgets and implementing proper internal controls;
• Implementing policies and programmes of the School in the campus, ensuring alignment with the School’s philosophy, vision, mission and core values and reporting thereon to the Principal/CEO;
• Advising the Principal/CEO on the campus management structure including succession plans;
• Providing strategic leadership in the campus in accordance with the mandate of the School;
• Participating in resource mobilization to enhance realization of the strategic objectives of the School;
• Prudent management of funds, property and affairs of the campus:
•  Fostering a conducive corporate culture that promotes strong ethical practices, good governance and employee productivity in the campus;
• Ensuring continuous improvements in the quality and value of services provided by the campus;
• (xv) Providing regular, thorough and prompt communication to the
• Principal/CEO on key technical, financial and administrative matters;
• Maintaining effective collaboration and partnerships with organs of Government and Government agencies, international organizations, private sector and all stakeholders;
• Being responsible for stakeholder management and the enhancement of the corporate image of the campus.
• Undertaking the monitoring and evaluation of the campus; and
• Performing any other function that is incidental or consequential to KSTVET’s functions under the Legal Notice No 123 of 2022 and the State Corporation’s Act or any other written Law, that may be assigned by the Principal/CEO.

Job Specifications

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-

• Cumulative service period of fifteen (15) years’ work experience three (3) of which should have been at the grade of Deputy Director position or a comparable position:
• Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following Disciplines; Electrical and Electronics engineering, Telecommunications, Avionics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Medical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering Agricultural Engineering, Building Technology, Civil Engineering, Land Survey Engineering, Quantity Survey, Architecture, Computer science/information Technology, Software Engineering, Information system, Home economics, Food and beverage, Catering and accommodation, Hospitality management, Tourism management, Nutrition and dietetics management, Hotel Management, Event planning and management, Fashion design and marketing, Clothing textile and interior design, Fashion design and textile technology, Apparel fashion and design, Applied Science, Medical laboratory, Pharmacy, Petroleum, Geophysical sciences, Marine Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Horticulture, Animal health, Animal production, Veterinary medicine, Agricultural education and extension, Agricultural economics, Entrepreneurial agriculture, Agribusiness, Accounting, Business management/Administration, Supply Chain management, Human resource, Entrepreneurship, Project management, Banking and finance, Economics, Marketing, Office management, Secretarial Studies, Information science, Social work and community development, Development studies, Sociology, Media technology, journalism, Mass communication, Sport Science or Any other relevant qualification from a recognize institution:

• Membership to a professional body where applicable and in good standing;
• Pedagogy qualification;
• Registered as a trainer by TVETA;
• Certificate in Leadership Course lasting not less than 4 weeks from a recognized and accredited institution;
• Proficiency in Computer applications; and
• Demonstrated a high degree of professional competence, Managerial and administrative capability as reflected in work performance and results.
