Cleaner / Housekeeper

Job Purpose

The Cleaner / Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and orderliness within assigned hospital areas to support a safe, comfortable, and patient-centered healthcare environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Carrying out daily cleaning of offices, wards, bathrooms, corridors, and public areas in line with hospital hygiene standards

• Cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing floors, furniture, and surfaces

• Replenishing supplies such as soap, tissues, hand towels, and related hygiene items

• Ensuring executive offices, pharmacy, radiology, and other critical areas are kept clean and well organized

• Maintaining cleanliness and proper arrangement of cleaning trolleys, tools, and detergents

• Cleaning and maintaining water dispensers, ensuring cups are available and water is refilled on time

• Inspecting assigned areas to ensure fixtures, fittings, and furniture are clean, orderly, and in good condition

• Observing safety and security procedures during cleaning and reporting any incidents, damages, or missing items to the supervisor

Job Requirements

• Certificate in Hospitality, Housekeeping, or an equivalent qualification

• At least one (1) year of experience working as a cleaner or housekeeper

• Prior experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is an added advantage

• Knowledge of housekeeping standard operating procedures and cleaning techniques

• Ability to work independently while following hygiene, safety, and infection control guidelines
