Billing Officers (2 Positions)

Job Purpose

The Billing Officer will be responsible for accurate hospital billing, insurance claims processing, and customer support to ensure timely revenue collection and a smooth patient billing experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and process patient bills for inpatient and outpatient services in line with hospital policies

• Handle insurance claims, pre-authorizations, and reconciliations with insurers and NHIF

• Verify billing information, tariffs, and patient details to ensure accuracy and compliance

• Address patient and insurer billing inquiries professionally and promptly

• Maintain accurate billing records, reports, and supporting documentation

• Collaborate with clinical, finance, and front office teams to resolve billing discrepancies

• Ensure adherence to internal controls, ethical standards, and healthcare regulations

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

• At least one year of experience in hospital billing or medical insurance processing

• Strong understanding of healthcare billing systems and insurance procedures

• Good customer service and communication skills

• Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under minimal supervision
