Job Purpose
APDK is looking to hire a detail-oriented and experienced Stores Officer to oversee the day-to-day management of its stores operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring the safe receipt and dispatch of goods, and supporting procurement and supply chain functions within the organization. This is a full-time job in Kenya suited for candidates with a strong background in warehouse or inventory management and hands-on experience working with ERP systems and MS Office tools.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming goods to ensure they meet quality and quantity specifications as per purchase orders
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records using ERP systems and MS Office applications
- Organize and manage the storage of goods in a clean, safe, and orderly manner within the warehouse
- Process and document the issuance of items to various departments and ensure all transactions are properly recorded
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile physical stock against system records to identify and address discrepancies
- Coordinate with the procurement and supply chain team to flag low stock levels and support timely restocking
- Prepare periodic inventory reports, including stock movement and variance reports, for management review
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures related to stores management and asset handling
- Maintain proper documentation for all goods received, issued, transferred, or returned
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing accurate inventory records and documentation
- Monitor and report damaged, expired, or obsolete stock items in a timely manner
- Liaise with suppliers and transporters as needed to facilitate smooth delivery and dispatch of goods
Job Requirements
- Diploma in Stores Management, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field
- A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a warehouse, stores, or inventory management role
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Practical experience working with ERP systems for inventory tracking and reporting
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to physically handle and manage stock, including lifting and organizing items as required
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination across departments
- High level of integrity and accountability in handling organizational assets and supplies
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of stores management best practices, including FIFO and stock rotation principles
