NYS Recruitment 2026 | National Youth Service Kenya – Over 700 Jobs | Apply by 18 March 2026

The National Youth Service (NYS) Kenya is recruiting over 700 Cadet Officers and Privates across 40+ disciplines. All positions are Permanent and Pensionable. Medical cover under the SHA Scheme for Civil Servants. Salary as per the NYS Salary Scale.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS – ALL APPLICANTS

Must be a Kenyan citizen aged 18–28 years with a valid National ID and KRA PIN Certificate, no criminal record, and must be medically fit. Successful candidates must undergo 9 months of NYS Paramilitary Training at NYS Training College. Must meet the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution.

Cadet Officers: Bachelor’s Degree with minimum KCSE grade C+, or Diploma with minimum KCSE grade C–. Certificate in computer application skills required.

Privates: Minimum KCSE grade D+. Must hold a National Trade Test, Craft or Diploma Certificate in the relevant field. Must have an NYS Discharge Certificate. Senior Service Man/Woman (I & II) certificate required for General Duty Cadre.

Engineering & Technical

Structural Engineer – 4 Posts BSc in Structural/Civil Engineering. Must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya as a Graduate Engineer.

Civil Engineer – 10 Posts BSc in Civil Engineering. Must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya as a Graduate Engineer.

Electrical Engineer – 3 Posts BSc in Electrical Engineering. Must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya as a Graduate Engineer.

Land Surveyor – 3 Posts BSc in Land Surveying. Must be registered with the Land Surveyor’s Board of Kenya.

Finance, Accounting & Audit

Finance Officer – 4 Posts BCom (Finance option), BBA (Finance option); OR Bachelor’s in Economics/Business Administration plus CPA(K), ACCA, or CFA.

Accountant – 15 Posts BCom (Accounting or Finance) plus CPA Part II; OR CPA(K) Part III or approved equivalent.

Agricultural Officer – 5 Posts BSc in Agriculture, Crop Production, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Engineering, or Irrigation Engineering.
