Laundry Attendant at Guru Nanak R.S Hospital

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle all incoming items to the laundry, including foul linen, records the pieces, check status (stains, torn, color, material etc.)
• Ensure clean linen is always available and that there should be no shortage of the same at any given point
• Ensure that the linen issued to departments and patients has no stain thus should make sure stains are removed before cleaning Responsible for all items/equipment’s in the laundry and should be able to explain any shortage or spoilage.
• Sorts the various clothes/linen for different treatments and washing Wash, dry and iron all linen and patients’ clothing from various units in accordance with instruction labels.
• Report any shortages and recommend when replacement stocks are required
• Keep records of any damage to items whilst in the laundry.
• Report on the condition of patients’ clothing to enable replacements to be purchased as necessary.
• To keep the laundry room in a clean and hygienic condition.
• Ensure that all machines and equipment are in good working order, report defects and problems
• Any other duty assigned by the Housekeeper.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Certificate/Diploma in Dry and Laundry Techniques
• 2 years as a laundry attendant experience preferably in hospital setup.

Key Competencies:

• Able to move intermittently during working hours.
• Possesses the necessary strength to lift linen and operate the machinery
• Able to handle pressure and able to stand for long hours
• Very flexible can work beyond normal duty hours, on weekends and holidays
• Maintain a liaison with other departments.
• Ready to serve with a smile.
