Job Specifications
The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail assisting in: –

  • Preparation and reviewing of the Corporate Strategic Plans;
  • Executing the Institute’s internal policies, regulations, guidelines and strategies;
  • Analyzing policy recommendations from various departments;
  • Preparation of policy position papers;
  • Preparation of the MTEF Budget, State Corporations Budget and other operational budgets and review of the same;
  • Collecting and collating economic and statistical data on the planned programmes and projects;
  • Initiating proposals for integrating the institutes activities in the Ministerial budgets and programmes;
  • Recommending the review updating and aligning the Institutes strategies with the government priorities and strategies in the medium term;
  • Ensuring implementation of departmental plan, policies, norms and procedures;
  • Assessing the strengths, weaknesses of policy options and making policy recommendations from various departments; and
  • Conducting pre-feasibility and feasibility studies on projects and programmes.

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Economics, or Economics and Mathematics, or Economics and Statistics, Development Studies or equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a mean grade C+ (Plus) or its equivalent; and
  • Proficiency in computer applications skills.

Job Specifications
The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail:-

  • Ensuring security of information, documents, files, records, and office equipment in a registry/archives;
  • Ensuring mail are received, sorted, opened, and dispatched and related registers are maintained;
  • Ensuring sorting, classifying, and indexing of documents for filing;
  • Ensuring storage, updating and maintenance of personnel records and file index;
  • Ensuring control in opening of open, confidential, and secret files;
  • Ensuring custody and Maintenance of Institute’s documents;
  • Planning appropriate office accommodation for registries;
  • Ensuring that file movement records are updated and maintained; and
  • Ensuring Digitization of the Institute’s documents for circulation and archiving.

Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

  • Bachelors Degree in Information Science Management, Records Management or any of the Social Sciences plus a Certificate in Records Management / Information Management or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution;
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C + (C Plus) from the Kenya National Examination Council or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Proficiency in computer applications;

Job Specifications
The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail assisting in:-

  • Identifying research problem with stakeholders;
  • Prioritizing research problems for implementation;
  • Developing research concepts;
  • Identifying relevant literature material;
  • Collecting of data in the field;
  • Data Analysis;
  • Writing appropriate technical reports including research notes, technical notes, conference posters, dissemination flyers;
  • Organizing and implementing dissemination activities that include Open days, ASK shows;
  • Disseminating research findings in local fora that include seminar, workshops, congress;
  • Mentor students on attachment, interns and visitors including High School and Colleges;
  • Implementing relevant ISO standards in their departments;
  • Compiling departmental quarterly and annual reports;

Persons Specification
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –

  • Bachelor’s Honors degree or equivalent degree in any of the following fields: Aquatic or Fisheries Sciences, Biological or Physical Sciences, Natural Resources Management, Environmental studies, Geology, Sociology, Economics, Anthropology, Bio-statistics, Marine engineering, Biometrics, Biotechnology; or any other aquatic, fisheries and other relevant disciplines from a recognized University.

Job Specifications
The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail:-

  • Participating in the development and implementation security strategies, policies and procedures;
  • Liaising with security agencies to ensure security of assets and operations
  • Participate in the coordination of emergency procedures and contingency planning;
  • Identifying potential security threats;
  • Coordinate investigation of internal security breaches;
  • Maintain records of crimes and incidents;
  • Oversee security surveys and inspections.
  • Liaising with County Administration and Kenya Police Service on security matters.

Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminology or equivalent from recognized university;
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a minimum grade of C+ (Plus) or equivalent;
  • Service in the Police Force or Military;
