1. Credit Analyst – MSME

Job Type: Full Time
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree (Business-related)
Experience: Minimum 2 years in credit analysis, especially in an SME environment
Job Field: Finance / Accounting / Audit

Job Purpose:

Support the Manager MSME Credit Analysis in ensuring compliance with internal credit policies, CBK prudential guidelines, and prudent credit risk management. Analyze and review SME credit proposals to ensure sound lending decisions and mitigate potential risks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate MSME credit applications based on the 5 Cs of lending: Character, Capacity, Conditions, Capital, and Collateral

• Recommend approval/decline of credit facilities based on thorough analysis

• Assist branches in credit facility packaging and ensure all sanction conditions are met before disbursement

• Conduct construction site visits when needed for disbursement tracking

• Draft board papers for credit facilities requiring Board Credit Committee approval

• Review documents for Solve Chain applications and assign limits

• Analyze and approve retail credit requests when required

• Support customer due diligence in line with AML, KYC & CFT policies

• Recommend policy reviews to improve risk management and customer service

• Provide credit-related training to staff when necessary

• Perform financial spreads for financial institutions to support treasury limit allocation

Required Skills & Attributes:

• Strong credit risk management and financial analysis skills

• Knowledge of accountancy is an added advantage

• Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and analytical skills
