Customer Service Assistant -CIC Insurance – CIC Insurance Kenya Job Details

Purpose:

The main objective of this role is to provide both administrative and technical support to the branch, captive, and independent intermediaries. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for offering general customer service across all lines of business for all subsidiaries of CIC.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that agents comply with IRA (Insurance Regulatory Authority) regulations.
  2. Verify that all necessary regulatory business licenses are in compliance.
  3. Contribute to the preparation of branch reports.
  4. Coordinate day-to-day administrative tasks in the branch, including office cleanliness and ensuring efficient equipment functions.
  5. Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including receiving, stamping, scanning, indexing, and distributing it within and outside the branch.
  6. Manage phone calls and visitors, and address customer communications through both electronic and physical channels.
  7. Resolve customer service issues related to underwriting and claims.
  8. Escalate customer queries to relevant team members when necessary.
  9. Maintain a professional environment within the office premises.
  10. Promote the organization’s customer service charter and uphold its principles.
  11. Generate quotations in collaboration with the Branch Underwriter and Branch Manager.
  12. Safeguard and maintain accountability for security documents, such as motor insurance certificates, log books, payment receipt vouchers, policy documents, revenue stamps, and others.
  13. Support all CIC events in the branch territory, including internal events and those involving stakeholders and the general public.
  14. Handle money transactions in accordance with established procedures, including cash, cheques, credit and debit cards, etc.
  15. Participate in premium collection and follow up on renewals for the branch.
  16. Manage group life underwriting, claims, and loading of schedules.

Academic and Professional Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other office applications.
  • Possession of a part qualification in a relevant professional field would be an advantage.
