CLERICAL OFFICER II: DPP 12 – Thirty (30) Posts V/NO. 16/2023

Basic Salary Scale: Kshs. 22,379 p.m. – Kshs. 46,721 p.m. Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

  • House Allowance: Kshs. 4,500 (Nairobi), Kshs. 3,730 (Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Nyeri, Eldoret, Thika, Kisii, Kitale, Malindi), Kshs. 3,000 (Other Former Municipalities), Kshs. 2,700 (Other Areas)
  • Commuter Allowance: Kshs. 3,000 p.m.
  • Leave Allowance: Kshs. 4,000 p.a.

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT:

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) grade C Plain
  • Certificate in Computer Applications from a recognized institution
  • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010; Integrity, Honesty, and Accountability

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: An officer at this level may be deployed at any of the Departments at the Headquarters or a County Office. Specifically, duties and responsibilities will include:

  1. Maintaining an efficient filing system.
  2. Posting different entries in relevant ledgers and requisitions as per the ODPP procedures.
  3. Drafting simple correspondences as advised.
  4. Compiling simple statistical records based on routine or special sources of information.
  5. Receipt and record entry and exit of office information material.
  6. Sorting and distributing incoming mail.
  7. Entry of data in the computer regarding prosecution cases.
  8. Updating and maintaining databases as directed.
  9. Confirming the mention and hearing notices, fixing hearing and mentions dates with the courts.
  10. Providing feedback on issues observed in the delivery of work.
  11. Opening and retrieving files as directed.
  12. Operating photocopiers, scanners, personal computers, and voicemail systems.
