SHOFCO
Job Purpose
To be responsible for supporting the head teacher in overseeing all of the operations of the school in a manner that supports the achievement of SHOFCO’s strategy and goals.
Key Responsibilities and Job Dimensions
- Work collaboratively with the Head teacher to ensure that the programs of the school are consistent with the vision, mission, and guiding principles of SHOFCO schools.
- Support the head teacher’s overall coordination of the activities of the school and ensure that the school programs are running smoothly, efficiently and effectively on a day to day basis.
- Evaluate and approve teaching plans and all professional documents.
- Oversee proper implementation of SHOFCO Curriculum using recommended teaching methodologies.
- Offer teacher training on curriculum design, implementation and evaluation.
- Class room teaching
- Development of a long-range in-service plan for the faculty in collaboration with the Education Management team.
- Collect, analyse, share and interpret internal and external school assessment data.
- Address all problems pertaining to boarding and safe house matters
- Address issues pertaining to social work matters.
- Oversee planning, execution and analysis of intervention programs
- Support the head teacher in developing and administering the general school routine, and coordinate all activities within the school.
- In charge of the general welfare of students in the safe house
Job Competencies (Knowledge, Experience and Attributes / Skills).
Academic Qualifications
- P1, Diploma, Higher Diploma or Degree in Primary Education
Professional Qualification
- Must be registered with TSC
- Trained CBC
Other requirements (unique/job specific)
- At Least 5 years’ experience in a student centred approach to education.
- Experience working with primary school and/or middle school children
- Experience in school administration.
- Experience in a rigorous, high-expectations school setting including at least one instructional leadership role
- Widely recognized as a highly effective teacher and can model what great, inquiry-based teaching looks like
