Overview:

We are in search of a capable and motivated Data Engineering Manager to join our dynamic Business Intelligence team. As the Data Engineering Manager, you will assume a pivotal role in propelling data-oriented decision-making and offering valuable insights to enhance our business operations. Leading the analytics engineering division, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional units to deliver top-notch analytics solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to comprehend business requirements and translate them into actionable analytics projects and endeavors.
  • Provide guidance to a team of two accomplished data engineers.
  • Spot opportunities for streamlining and automating analytics processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Guarantee data precision, integrity, and security by implementing best practices and data governance protocols.
  • Enhance our Data Warehouse by constructing analytical data models and data marts.
  • Construct sturdy data pipelines using visual ETL/ELT tools like Dataform, Talend, or Dbt.
  • Develop code adhering to our standards for style, maintainability, and best practices.
  • Execute performance tuning and optimization to boost the efficiency of analytics workflows.
  • Ensure effective implementation of data security and compliance measures.
  • Create and maintain documentation on architecture and systems.
  • Sustain a data catalog to facilitate self-service analytics and maintain a single source of truth.

Requirements:

  • Exhibit enthusiasm for the challenges presented by an e-commerce business, including demand forecasting, delivery optimization, inventory management, and enhancing customer lifetime value.
  • Demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Bring over 8 years of experience in developing data marts and analytical data models, preferably within an agile, rapidly growing startup environment.
  • Showcase over 8 years of experience in working with version control systems.
  • Demonstrate over 8 years of experience utilizing visual ETL/ELT Tools such as Dataform, Talend, GCP Composer, GCP Datastream, GCP Dataflow, and DBT.
  • Possess over 3 years of experience in leading data engineering and data science teams.
  • Exhibit hands-on expertise with Cloud Data Warehouses like BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, or Snowflake.
  • Display meticulous attention to detail and the ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
  • Have familiarity with DevOps and automation practices, including containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes) for managing containerized applications.
  • Possess knowledge of data security and compliance measures.
  • Maintain a working understanding of cloud infrastructure and networking.
  • Familiarity with streaming technologies like Apache Kafka or Google Cloud Datastream.
  • Possess experience in performance tuning and optimization.
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with Apache Airflow are highly valued.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI is a beneficial addition.
  • Knowledge of B2B e-commerce or a related industry is advantageous.
