About the Role

We are recruiting a Team Leader – Butchery at Majid Al Futtaim to lead operations in our butchery department across Kenya. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor Net Promoter Score (NPS) and customer feedback, then develop and roll out initiatives that improve the shopping experience and customer retention.
  • Oversee inventory control, replenishment schedules, stock reporting, and balance sheet accuracy to maintain optimal product availability.
  • Track waste metrics and shrinkage reports, introducing control procedures and improved stock handling techniques to reduce losses.
  • Ensure correct product display, pricing accuracy, and strict adherence to planograms and merchandising standards throughout the department.
  • Enforce health, safety, hygiene, and security protocols to protect team members, customers, and company assets in compliance with regulations.
  • Build and develop team capability through staff scheduling, performance monitoring, on-the-job training, and structured onboarding for new hires.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly, promote products effectively, and reinforce a customer-first mindset across the team.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, finance, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years in a supervisory capacity within butchery operations, retail meat departments, or meat processing facilities.
  • Demonstrated competency in carcass breakdown and meat cutting across beef, lamb, and poultry.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP standards and food safety compliance requirements for meat products.
  • Ability to assess meat freshness, manage shelf-life parameters, and implement rotation protocols (FIFO).
  • Practical experience in stock receiving, storage procedures, and inventory rotation to maintain product quality and minimize deterioration.
